Reflection 1 The Role of Technology and Media in Education

 It was our first official technology class. I reached when the fully energized lecturer Mrs. Robert's  was asking students to identify themselves. We then began on our first topic The Role of Technology and Media in Education. A video was shown on technology and media then and now. It was amazing to see the things of the past and what is used presently. During this session I learnt that technology can enhance learning and makes it quite interesting. The class was introduced to the six categories of media. Video,People,Audio,Images (visual ), Written (text), Manipulatives (tactile).

 Each classmates was given a form of media and was asked to explain how it is used and in what era.
 We were made aware of the different learning styles, Types of Learners and the Four theories of learning.

 Task

Week 1. Gmail and Hotmail

 Create: Gmail account and add classmates to the contact list

           Hotmail account and add classmates to the contact list

 Steps: 

1: Go to www.gmail.com and www.live.con

2. Complete the general information 

3. Sign into the email account created

4. click on the drop down menu/app icon

5. Select contacts/people

6. Add each individual email "new-contacts and contact group/list" feature

7. Using the more tab you can import contacts from another email

CHALLENGE

My challenge was to create a new email address because the old one was not appropriate for the college and adding each classmates to my contacts.

I overcome my challenge by reading and following the directions step by step, with the contact list I made sure all the email addresses were correct and entered each individually. 

Conculsion

 At the end of week 1 I learnt that teachers need to cater to their students needs and each students has a different learning styles. The energetic Mrs Roberts has made me more aware of differents ways in which to reach each of my students in the classroom
